"After I had this wine about two and a half years ago, I opened the 2017 Sauvignon Blanc Trockenbeerenauslese again to finish this report. The color is a radiant dark gold. The nose is highly refined in all its finely spicy and fruity intensity and concentration that is reminiscent of stewed stone fruits (apricots), pineapples, crushed rocks, wholemeal bread and honey intertwined with tart and refreshing dashes of lime and grapefruit juice. On the palate, this Is an enormously rich, sweet and viscous TBA from Sauvignon selected entirely in the Kranachberg grand cru. The 2017 combines richness and sweetness (250 grams of residual sugar per liter!) with elegance, finesse and freshness and is even stimulating due to its thrilling piquancy on the aftertaste. This is a beautifully made TBA that might belong to the very elite of Austria's praised noble sweet wines. 9.5% alcohol. Glass stopper." -Robert Parker

"Opulent honeyed nose with gooseberry, lemon candy and green papaya notes. Sweet but still lively with a lovely herbal edge."

"A splendid dessert wine, presenting a lush, unctuous profile filled with flavors of apricot glaze, butterscotch and lavender honey. Hints of candied orange peel, taffy and sage cream emerge midpalate. This has many dimensions, with layers emerging one after another, and impressive acidity keeping everything together. Astonishing balance and length. Delicious now, but this will keep developing over the next several decades. Best from 2023 through 2045. 300 cases made, 60 cases imported."
