Nestled in the steep slopes of Brauneberger Juffer, Schloss Lieser’s Riesling Feinherb 2021 is a bright and vibrant expression of Mosel Riesling. The Feinherb style strikes a perfect balance between sweetness and acidity, offering an approachable yet complex wine that showcases the region’s legendary terroir.

The nose opens with a fresh bouquet of citrus—lime, lemon, and grapefruit—complemented by crisp green apple and delicate floral notes. As the wine breathes, a hint of honey and stone fruit emerges, adding depth to the aromatic profile. On the palate, the wine is lively and fresh, with a soft sweetness that perfectly balances the wine’s bright acidity. This balance ensures the wine is crisp yet round, with flavors of citrus and orchard fruit shining through, followed by a gentle mineral finish.

Schloss Lieser’s Brauneberger Juffer Riesling Feinherb 2021 pairs wonderfully with seafood, roasted chicken, or dishes featuring fresh herbs and spices. It’s already drinking beautifully now but also has the potential to evolve over the next few years, gaining additional complexity. A perfect reflection of Mosel’s elegance and precision, this Riesling offers a nuanced experience for both newcomers and aficionados alike.

A once historic estate with 100 acres under its belt, found its way to a slow decline, down to 6 acres until being taken over by Thomas and Ute Haag. They have slowly revived the vineyards, quality and reputation to its former glory, including purchasing and leasing 185 Grosse Lagen or "Grand Cru" sites. They are working on farming everything organically with the help of their two children, Lara and Niklas. Winemaking is long and slow and reductive, with spontaneous fermentation, and no fining or filtering, preferring to wait as long as need be for racking to give the purest expression of site.
