Burghound

BH 91
"As is usually the case, this is even bigger and more powerful than the Bressandes with a more reserved, tighter and less expressive nose of game, black fruit and underbrush leading to muscular, taut and vibrant flavors of real depth and length though not the elegance and overall purity of expression possessed by the Bressandes. Still, this is an impressive, indeed even dramatic wine of considerable potential that will also require at least a decade to be at its best."

Antonio Galloni

AG 92
"Medium red, a bit less saturated than the Bressandes. Ripe aromas of plum, raspberry, chocolate and smoke, with a note of peach. Even sweeter than the Bressandes, with a sensual texture. But good underlying minerality gives this wine noteworthy cut and finesse. Nicely delineated owing to its sound acidity. Finishes quite firm, but with the tannins coming late." -Vinous

Robert Parker

"The 2002 Corton Clos du Roi reveals scents of raspberries, flowers, and cherries. Medium-bodied and pure, it is a slightly firmer wine than the Bressandes. Its flavor profile displays regal layers of red and black fruits intermingled with stones."

Focus On: Burgundy

Burgundy has long been the world's most famous wine region. But, underneath all the prestige, this region can be hard to get to know.

While Burgundy offers many great trophies from top producers in well-known villages like Vosne Romanee and Puligny Montrachet, it also offers excellent values to anyone willing to explore beyond the famous names. Our collection– one of the largest in the U.S. – has plenty of both!

From the very basics of Burgundy's regions and wines to the specific terroirs of individual single vineyards--
everything you need to know about Bourgogne is just a click away!
