Professional Reviews

Antonio Galloni

AG 94
"The NV Brut Le Caractère M is 95% Chardonnay and 5% Pinot Noir based on 2013, with a perpetual reserve dating back to 2002 that represents 75% of the wine. It is the richest and creamiest of the Margaine Champagnes. Dried flowers, coffee, hazelnut, spice, dried orchard fruit and tangerine oil all show the natural richness the older vintages bring to this compelling blend. Dosage is 4-5 grams per liter. Disgorged: September, 2018."

Wine Spectator

WS 91
"A sleek blanc de blancs Champagne, with firming flavors of ripe melon, toast and roasted almond along with crunchy acidity. A fine aperitif style, lively and well-knit, with a creamy mousse. Disgorged September 2018. Drink now through 2023. 166 cases made."

Champagne

Champagne boasts some of the world’s greatest luxury brands with Krug, Cristal and, of course, Dom Perignon. But it’s also home to hundreds of small dynamic producers—farmers who grow their own grapes (often organically) and make (often with natural methods) tiny amounts of pure and absolutely delicious wine that reflect the individual personalities of their villages and terroirs. Toast with these wines, for sure. But also treat them like the great wines they are: taste, drink, explore!
