"The 2019 Riesling HJW Bio is sourced from the HJW Vineyard's Block Four, which contains 2009 vines that are farmed biodynamically. It was partly aged in used 1,000 and 500-liter Hungarian barrels (50%). It comes in with five grams of sugar and 12% alcohol. It's pretty dry in perception. This 2019 might be the sexiest of Wiemer's offerings this issue. Of course, "sexy" is not a descriptor that often goes with Riesling. "Zesty, zippy, transparent, steely" are more familiar descriptors, but those are not as applicable here. As a function of the wood, the demeanor and style of the wine is changed, but it handles the wood perfectly–except for the lusher texture and the gentler demeanor, you will hardly notice. There is certainly no "drenched in vanilla" aspect. This lush Riesling is beautifully structured, delicious and easy to love. This 2019 should age well." -Robert Parker
