"The 2020 Barolo Villero offers up blue fruit, lavender, spice, mint, new leather and grilled herbs. Brisk acids and veins of tannin confer freshness. It will be interesting to see if the 2020 softens in bottle. Today, it is decidedly nervous. Even so, the Villero has real palate presence and notable explosive energy." -Vinous

Vineyard
Sourced from their .8 hectare parcel in the Villero cru in Castiglione Falletto.
Soil
Compact soil -- mainly clay with some limestone.
Viticulture
Hand-harvested in early October from 53 year old vines.
Vinification
Fermented and macerated in stainless steel for 25 days.
Aging
Aged for thirty months in 40 HL barrels. Bottled at the end of summer. It then spends one year in the bottle before release.
