A wine of joy, a wine of heart. The only wine we were able to source under the Rosalie Curtin label, although the work that goes into all the wines is a labor of love between them.

This Pinot Noir feels slightly less structured than Lardot's Pinot K, but makes up for it with a fluttering grace, lifted across your palate. The fruit is airy and gentle and takes a background to the minerality of the slate, with the backbone from the clay top soils it is harvested from. A supremely charming Pinot Noir that we could not get enough of.

This vintage the fruit is sourced from Bullayer Brautrock, a southwest-facing, mix of slate and clay soil, later iterations will be sourced from Briedeler Herzchen, the vineyard name meaning “Heart”. The grapes started fermenting with 25% whole cluster, 75% hand destemmed berries, then were pressed after 14 days while it was still bubbling away. It finished fermentation in 225L used French oak barrels where it stayed for 18 months.

German Wines

Is there a better grape than Riesling? Is there a better value? Its fruit purity, its perfume, and its mineral nuance are all unparalleled. And for centuries, the top German Rieslings were priced accordingly: at least as expensive as the top red wines of Bordeaux and Burgundy. But nowadays you could spend a lifetime exploring Germany’s great Riesling-producing regions while staying well within your budget. You might take an occasional break to try Germany’s other white grapes or perhaps a glass of Spätburgunder (the local name for Pinot Noir). It’s time to get started!
