These are the Beaujolais you want when you're looking for a joyful bottle, a crushable bottle, a bottle you want to share, and a bottle that won't break the bank.
The Beaujolais region has three distinct levels of wine. At the top are the 10 Crus of Beaujolais (Morgon, Fleurie etc.) and in the middle are the wines of "Beaujolais Villages."
Beaujolais AOC is the lowest rung on that ladder. But don't click away! These wines are a treat: beautiful fruit, fresh and easy to drink. A great producer in Beaujolais AOC will make a wine that you'd be happy drinking at a party -- it is, as the French say, "Festive" wine! -- but it's also wine that that you'll enjoy with light food or maybe even with a favorite show or a good book.
