The Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses 2006 from Domaine Robert Groffier is a wine that exemplifies the delicate yet powerful nature of this famed Burgundy village. Sourced from one of the most revered 1er Cru vineyards in the Côte de Nuits, Les Amoureuses is known for its ability to produce Pinot Noir with exceptional finesse and balance. The 2006 vintage showcases the hallmark elegance of Chambolle, with the structure and depth to evolve beautifully with age.

This wine unfolds gently in the glass, offering a bouquet of ripe red fruit—cherry, raspberry—interwoven with floral notes and subtle earthy undertones that reflect the terroir’s cool climate and limestone soils. The palate is refined, with silky tannins that provide structure without being overpowering. Layers of complexity emerge as the wine opens up, revealing nuances of spice, truffle, and the soft, earthy texture that defines the best of Chambolle-Musigny. The finish is long and harmonious, with a lingering note of mineral freshness that invites you to explore the wine further.

Domaine Robert Groffier’s Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses 2006 is a perfect wine for those who appreciate the delicate power of top-tier Burgundy. Whether enjoyed now or cellared for a few more years, this wine is a true reflection of both the vineyard’s exceptional terroir and the craftsmanship of one of Burgundy’s finest producers. It pairs beautifully with roasted meats, mushroom dishes, or simply savored on its own in a quiet moment of reflection.

"Here there is a bit more obvious wood spice, mixed espresso and sexy black and blue fruit aromas that merge into rich, full and velvety medium-bodied flavors that are concentrated and textured with another dimension of complexity on the admirably long finish that also evidences a trace of toast."

"Lightly-cooked red raspberry and strawberry in the Groffier 2006 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses inform a texturally creamy yet at the same time faintly sharp palate. Suggestions of musk and truffle add intrigue. This is impressively concentrated, and for all of its initially flattering palate impression there is a tightness of tannin and a positive nervosite that promise serious potential. While more complex, this is less clear- or pure-fruited than the Sentiers. A hint of heat and exposed tannin surface in the finish though, and I would love to revisit this in 2010 or 2011 to reinforce my tentative impression that it would be worth following for up to a decade. Here I can see points of resemblance – as Groffier suggests – to the 2000, which was impressive when tasted alongside."

"A fresh, spicy style, exuding sandalwood, cigar box and cedar notes over blackberry and licorice flavors. This is slightly chewy in texture, with grip and staying power."
