Antonio Galloni

"The 2021 Riesling Wallufer Walkenberg Spätlese trocken comes with spicy notions of citrus and a little yeast alongside subtle hints of Mirabelle. Fruity tartness defines the nose. The palate is immediately buffered, smooth, bright and citric. Fine Reine Claude and Mirabelle plum aligned around a pink grapefruit zestiness, slightly yeast-textured and bright, bone dry, with juiciness and lightness and yet much substance and sustained yeasty freshness." -Vinous

"Becker's 2021 Wallufer Walkenberg Riesling Spätlese trocken opens with a clear, elegant and aromatic bouquet of white peaches, crushed stones and deep earth. Very refined and elegant on the palate, this is a medium-bodied, tight, saline, well-structured and savory Riesling with character and good length. This is a first-class gastronomic wine that can easily be paired with many dishes including white meat. 12.5% stated alcohol. Glass stopper. Tasted at the domaine in Walluf in September 2023."

German Wines

Is there a better grape than Riesling? Is there a better value? Its fruit purity, its perfume, and its mineral nuance are all unparalleled. And for centuries, the top German Rieslings were priced accordingly: at least as expensive as the top red wines of Bordeaux and Burgundy. But nowadays you could spend a lifetime exploring Germany’s great Riesling-producing regions while staying well within your budget. You might take an occasional break to try Germany’s other white grapes or perhaps a glass of Spätburgunder (the local name for Pinot Noir). It’s time to get started!
