Caillerets is where Volnay gets extra graceful, and in d’Angerville’s hands, it’s pure class. If Taillepieds is the brooding intellectual, Caillerets is the effortless charmer—silky, floral, and ultra-fine, with structure that whispers instead of shouts.

The 2022 vintage adds a bit more plushness to the usual Caillerets precision. Think wild strawberries, rose petals, and crushed limestone, with a cool mineral thread that runs all the way through. It’s light on its feet but still deeply layered—one of those wines that seems delicate at first, then slowly unfolds in the glass.

D’Angerville keeps it clean and classic: organic farming, gentle handling, no excess oak, just a clear expression of place. And Caillerets, often called the “Clos des Ducs of the south,” has the pedigree to match—it’s one of the most complete 1er Crus in the village, and this bottle proves it.

Drink it young for its perfume, or let it age and gain complexity. Either way, it’s Volnay at its most refined.

Focus On: Burgundy

Burgundy has long been the world's most famous wine region. But, underneath all the prestige, this region can be hard to get to know.

While Burgundy offers many great trophies from top producers in well-known villages like Vosne Romanee and Puligny Montrachet, it also offers excellent values to anyone willing to explore beyond the famous names. Our collection– one of the largest in the U.S. – has plenty of both!

From the very basics of Burgundy's regions and wines to the specific terroirs of individual single vineyards--
everything you need to know about Bourgogne is just a click away!
