The value at Belregard-Figeac is so good that it makes us scratch our heads in wonder. Their vines are up on the Plain of Figeac, bordering on Pomerol. It's considered one of the prime locales in St. Emilion. The style is very classical. The Chateau has been operated by the same family since the 1860s and really not much has changed over the years. Like Figeac itself, they have retained a high percentage of Cabernet Franc. There is very little new oak. There are no flying wine consultants here, and no marketing budgets. It's just a family making wine in what happens to be some of the finest terroir anywhere.
