Le Puy has a good story: it's been continuously run by the Amoreau family since the 1600s, with pristine vineyards that have never once been sprayed by chemicals. The winemaking and viticulture have changed very little over the centuries, which frames Le Puy as a sort of proto-natural producer with a distinctly different tradition from the more modern "traditional" Bordeaux estates.

That's just the kind of producer story we love, and unsurprisingly the wines have taken off here since being picked up by the venerable Neal Rosenthal about three years ago.

Of course, it helps that the wines themselves are truly unique, and also that they are so good.
