"Colgin's 2011 Syrah IX Estate has always been magnificent from barrel and it is equally compelling now that it is in bottle. Inky, dark and explosive, the 2011 bursts from the glass with blue/purple/black fruit, menthol, cloves emerge from an intense, fruit-driven Syrah loaded with class and personality. There are no hard edges or angular contours in this drop-dead gorgeous wine. Savory notes are just beginning to develop, but ideally the 2011 needs a few more years in bottle to develop its bouquet. In 2011 Colgin was particularly severe with their selection, which resulted in the lowest production ever of Syrah at IX Estate." -Vinous

"Offers beautifully rich dark berry fruit definition, with pure boysenberry, blackberry and blueberry flavors framed by cedary oak and spicy, floral scents. The flavors are big, yet this is elegant and graceful on the palate and long on the finish."
