Les Perchots sits on Meursault's lower slopes near the Volnay border, classified as 2e Classe (second class) in the historic 1862 ranking—recognized quality just below Premier Cru. Antoine Lepetit de la Bigne sources this fruit from 60-year-old Chardonnay vines growing in deep soils rich with limestone gravels. His négociant model allows him to work with multiple growers while maintaining strict standards: only organic or biodynamic-certified vineyards qualify. Fermentation happens in a combination of vessels—barrels, foudres, and amphorae—to achieve what Antoine calls maximum terroir purity. The 2023 vintage in Burgundy produced white wines with elegance and balance rather than sheer power. This Meursault shows the precision and mineral focus that define Antoine's scientific yet soulful approach.

Professional Reviews

Antonio Galloni

AG 92
"The 2023 Meursault Les Perchots is a powerful wine. Old vines confer palpable textural depth and phenolic structure. This could be very interesting with a bit of time in bottle. Today, the Perchots is not especially expressive, but there is plenty of character waiting to emerge." -Antonio Galloni

Burgundy has long been the world's most famous wine region. But, underneath all the prestige, this region can be hard to get to know.

While Burgundy offers many great trophies from top producers in well-known villages like Vosne Romanee and Puligny Montrachet, it also offers excellent values to anyone willing to explore beyond the famous names. Our collection– one of the largest in the U.S. – has plenty of both!

From the very basics of Burgundy's regions and wines to the specific terroirs of individual single vineyards--
