Natural Beaujolais from one of the "Gang of Four" pioneers. Domaine founded by Joseph Chamonard; after his death in 1990, daughter Geneviève and son-in-law Jean-Claude Chanudet ("Le Chat") took over. Jean-Claude is considered a godfather of natural winemaking in Beaujolais, close friend of Marcel Lapierre. 5.5 hectares total, 4 hectares in Morgon across Grands Cras, Le Colombien, and Château Gaillard. Vines from 1930-1950, some reaching 80 years old. Semi-carbonic maceration with stems, indigenous yeast. 1 year in old oak. Unfined, unfiltered. Organic practices but deliberately not certified.
