True rosé de macération—not a blend of red and white, but Pinot Noir skins left in brief contact with the juice to impart color, aroma, and a vinous depth that blended rosés rarely achieve. Eric Rodez, the Ambonnay Grand Cru grower who trained at Krug and became the first French farm to earn Haute Valeur Environnementale certification, builds this cuvée from thirty-four percent 2018 base wine with components spanning 2015 through 2019 and thirty-five percent reserves. Eighty percent of the base wines ferment in small oak barrels, and the maceration technique delivers dazzling brightness alongside fragrant red fruit and spice. The Brut dosage provides a whisper of roundness. This is a serious gastronomic rosé from one of Champagne's most respected grower estates.

Champagne

Champagne boasts some of the world’s greatest luxury brands with Krug, Cristal and, of course, Dom Perignon. But it’s also home to hundreds of small dynamic producers—farmers who grow their own grapes (often organically) and make (often with natural methods) tiny amounts of pure and absolutely delicious wine that reflect the individual personalities of their villages and terroirs. Toast with these wines, for sure. But also treat them like the great wines they are: taste, drink, explore!
