Weingut Ferdinand Krebs was a very old-fashioned winery in Neumagen on the Dhron river. Ferdinand worked for over 50 years, he started making wine in the 1950's and retired in 2004. Along with its sister town of Dhron, Neumagen has been a noted source for great wine since Roman times. Recently, talented young winegrowers have restored the historic reputation of this bastion of Riesling in the heart of the Middle Mosel. Ferdinand had no children, his wines were never exported and as he grew older he had fewer and fewer customers. He started leasing his vineyards to young local winegrowers like A.J.Adam. The winery, vineyards and the contents of the cellar were sold.
