Colheita Ports are vintage-dated tawnies—aged in barrel for a minimum of 7 years, but often much longer. Niepoort’s 2009 Colheita, drawn from a warm and generous vintage, was aged for around 13–14 years in old wooden casks, giving it both depth and refinement. Unlike vintage Port, which ages in bottle, Colheitas evolve slowly in wood, taking on oxidative richness while maintaining harmony and clarity.

This wine pours a deep amber, offering aromas of toasted hazelnut, dried orange peel, caramelized fig, and warm spice, with undertones of polished wood and a hint of smoke. The palate is plush and silky, but carried by bright acidity and a mineral backbone that keep it clean and long. It finishes with layers of toffee, citrus, and sweet tobacco—a perfect blend of sweetness and structure.

Ideal as a post-dinner sipper, it also pairs wonderfully with blue cheese, roasted nuts, spiced desserts, or even rich savory dishes with a sweet glaze. Once opened, it’ll hold beautifully for weeks or even months.
