Perhaps the most elegant Greco di Tufo made in Italy. The Ferrara family has grown grapes in Irpinia since the 1880s; Benito built the modern winery in the 1950s. Vigna Cicogna is their flagship single-vineyard bottling from volcanic soils rich in sulfur—the village of Tufo sits atop ancient sulfur mines. Greco ripens late at high altitude (450-600m), yielding wines of remarkable mineral complexity. This is Campania's answer to great white Burgundy: structured, textured, built to age. Outstanding with seafood or aged hard cheeses.

Professional Reviews

Antonio Galloni

AG 92
"The 2024 Greco di Tufo Vigna Cicogna is decidedly savory with musky apricots, lemon zest and dried flowers. A pretty inner sweetness on the entry leads to contrasting salty mineral tones, citrus and ultra-ripe orchard fruits. Zesty acidity punctuates the experience beautifully as tension reverberates through the long finale." -Eric Guido
