What is this wine?
Denis Meunier is a young, rising talent in Vouvray, Loire Valley, working organically and with minimal intervention. His estate covers just a few hectares of old-vine Chenin Blanc planted on the region’s classic tuffeau limestone. Le Clos Baglin is a single-vineyard bottling made in the Demi-Sec style, with a touch of residual sugar balanced by vibrant acidity—one of the most traditional and versatile expressions of Vouvray.

Why get this wine?
Meunier is part of the new wave of small, quality-focused Loire growers making pure, terroir-driven wines. This Demi-Sec shows Chenin Blanc’s unique ability to balance gentle sweetness with crystalline freshness, offering both early-drinking charm and ageworthiness. It’s an artisanal, small-production wine that overdelivers for the price.

What does this wine taste like?
Elegant and layered, with ripe pear, quince, and golden apple lifted by citrus and white flowers. A subtle honeyed note is balanced by zesty acidity and a chalky mineral finish. The gentle sweetness enhances texture without ever feeling heavy.

When should you drink this wine?
Delicious now with spicy Asian dishes, roast poultry, goat cheese, or even lightly fruity desserts. It will evolve beautifully for 10+ years, gaining nutty, honeyed complexity.
