Monopole Chenin Blanc from a 1.4-hectare walled vineyard that only Domaine Guiberteau produces—Clos des Guichaux in the Bizay terroir near Brézé. Classical clay-limestone with just 30cm of topsoil before roots plunge into pure chalky bedrock. Romain Guiberteau took over the family domaine in 1996, abandoning a law career to revive the estate founded by his great-grandfather Clément Manguin in the early 20th century. Certified organic since 2007; the vines were replanted in the early 2000s with massale cuttings from the family's best old vines.
