Domaine Pierre Luneau-Papin, located 20 kilometers south of Nantes in the Loire Valley, operates 45 hectares of Melon de Bourgogne vineyards on sunny hillsides of Sèvre et Maine. Biodynamic and Demeter-certified, the domaine practices parcel-by-parcel vinification with minimalist, quality-focused approaches. Les Vergers comes from schistes and micaschistes (slate and mica-schist) soils, directly pressed and aged 16 months in glass-tiled concrete vats on lees without racking before bottling without further treatment. The 2023 vintage delivers "fine and expressive nose marked by white flower aromas, fresh lemon, green apple and wet stone with saline touch." The lively, tense, refreshing palate shows beautiful acidity and fine structure. This is Loire white wine at its most mineral and distinctive.

The Loire Valley is France’s greatest source of value for anyone looking for elegant, terroir-driven wines. Our collection celebrates the region’s great diversity, with the mineral-driven whites of Muscadet and Sancerre, the beautiful Chenin Blancs and Cabernet Francs from villages like Vouvray and Chinon, and natural wines from everywhere in the region. Sometimes wonderfully fresh and gulpable, sometimes serious and age-worthy, the prices are always very reasonable.
