What is this wine?
A. & E. Verset is the domaine of Alain and Éliane Verset, members of the famous Verset family of Cornas. While best known for Syrah in the northern Rhône, they also produce small amounts of white wine, including this Viognier. Labeled Vin de France rather than Condrieu, it offers a more accessible take on the variety, grown on Rhône terroir and made in a straightforward, expressive style.

Why get this wine?
Condrieu Viognier is revered but often expensive. This bottling from the Verset family delivers the same aromatic, textured qualities at a fraction of the price. It’s a rare chance to enjoy Viognier from one of Cornas’ legendary families without breaking the bank.

What does this wine taste like?
Aromatic and generous, with peach, apricot, and floral notes lifted by citrus zest. The palate is supple and fresh, with moderate weight and a clean, slightly mineral finish.

When should you drink this wine?
Best enjoyed young, within 2–4 years, to capture its fragrance and fruit. Lovely with roast chicken, soft cheeses, or spiced vegetable dishes. Serve lightly chilled.
