Ramilo, just outside the city of Lisbon, is an excellent source of bold yet balanced reds, and The Jackpot is no exception. We love its brambly dark fruit, rounded structure and refreshing acidity. The winery worked with their American importer (a boutique outfit focused on great, under-valued Portuguese wines) to create a taverna-style blend, perfect for sipping alone or with poultry, meat, or even grilled vegetables. It's a blend of Castelão and Aragonez, more commonly known as Tempranillo.
