Jim and Loie Maresh planted this vineyard in 1970 on Worden Hill Road above Dundee—making it one of Oregon's earliest high-elevation Pinot Noir sites, rooted in the volcanic Jory soils that define the Dundee Hills. Kelley Fox, who established her eponymous label in 2007 with her father Gus Stearns, produces just 2,700 to 3,000 cases annually from sites farmed organically and biodynamically. Her approach is minimalist and precise—whole-cluster fermentation to enhance natural aromatics, gentle handling to preserve site-specificity. The 2014 Willamette Valley vintage was warm and generous, producing Pinot Noir of structure and longevity. This bottling delivers graphite-tinged deep strawberry and dried sage aromas with hard red candy, balsam herbs, and licorice on a palate of exceptional length.
