Géraldine Godot took full control of Domaine de l'Arlot in 2015 and immediately deepened the estate's biodynamic commitment and whole-cluster fermentation practices. The Clos de L'Arlot is a Premier Cru monopole with a crucial distinction: it sits on Nuits-Saint-Georges' Vosne-facing slope, which imparts an elegance often absent from the appellation's earthier, more austere wines. Raspberry, currant, cherry, and strawberry fruit emerge with floral notes and supple tannins that suggest immediate appeal without sacrificing complexity. The 2023 vintage hit an opulent stride that showcases why this particular slope deserves separate recognition.

Professional Reviews

Antonio Galloni

AG 94
"The 2023 Nuits Saint-Georges Clos de l'Arlot 1er Cru has a vibrant bouquet that one might mistake for containing some stems—slightly darker fruit, with a touch of seaweed. The palate is medium-bodied with a saline entry, very well balanced and elegant in style, with a harmonious and persistent finish. Quite seductive." -Neal Martin

Jancis Robinson

JR 17
"Sour-fresh citrus aroma. Just lightly spiced from the oak. Lovely chewy freshness on the palate. Ripe citrus balanced by that touch of oak and the creamy, firm texture."

Burgundy has long been the world's most famous wine region. But, underneath all the prestige, this region can be hard to get to know.

While Burgundy offers many great trophies from top producers in well-known villages like Vosne Romanee and Puligny Montrachet, it also offers excellent values to anyone willing to explore beyond the famous names. Our collection– one of the largest in the U.S. – has plenty of both!

From the very basics of Burgundy's regions and wines to the specific terroirs of individual single vineyards--
everything you need to know about Bourgogne is just a click away!
