Moutard’s Champagne Brut Rosé de Cuvaison NV, with a base of 2022, is a fresh and expressive rosé Champagne that highlights the robust character of Pinot Noir from the Côte des Bar. Crafted using the “cuvaison” method, which involves a short maceration with the grape skins, this rosé captures depth of flavor and a beautiful, vivid color. Moutard’s traditional approach emphasizes the natural qualities of the vineyard, resulting in a wine that is both fruit-forward and elegantly balanced. Offered here in a 375ml format, it’s a perfect option for enjoying Champagne in a smaller serving.

On the nose, this Rosé de Cuvaison reveals aromas of ripe red berries, including raspberry and red currant, with notes of rose petal and a hint of grapefruit zest. The palate is lively and textured, presenting flavors of cherry and pomegranate, underscored by a subtle minerality and a fine, creamy mousse. The Brut dosage rounds out the wine, leaving a crisp, refreshing finish that invites another sip.

This Champagne pairs wonderfully with a range of foods, from charcuterie and seafood to light poultry dishes, offering versatility and a pleasing, fruit-driven profile. The 2022 base brings a youthful brightness, making Moutard’s Brut Rosé de Cuvaison an excellent choice for a small celebration or as a sophisticated aperitif in its convenient 375ml bottle.

Moutard

Founded in the 1600s, this house on the far southern edge of Champagne specializes in the production of Pinot Noir from an ideal terroir featuring a mix of clay and bands of kimmeridgian limestone.

The wines are vinified in a traditional manner and emerge from the cellars with lovely aromas of red fruit, supple texture and a long, lingering finish. Moutard puts out impressive values across the board.

Champagne

Champagne boasts some of the world’s greatest luxury brands with Krug, Cristal and, of course, Dom Perignon. But it’s also home to hundreds of small dynamic producers—farmers who grow their own grapes (often organically) and make (often with natural methods) tiny amounts of pure and absolutely delicious wine that reflect the individual personalities of their villages and terroirs. Toast with these wines, for sure. But also treat them like the great wines they are: taste, drink, explore!
