Agricola Lisini, with vineyards high in the hills of southerly Sant' Angelo in Colle, was a founding member of the Brunello Consorzio and has never strayed from the traditional principles laid out in its charter. Fermentation in old glass-lined concrete, 18–24 days of maceration, aging in neutral Slavonian barrels, and bottling without filtration make for pure, unadulterated expressions of terroir. Lisini's high elevation and limestone soils not only set them apart from the rest of southern Montalcino but also give that added edge of freshness and verve that only the very best Brunello possess. All of the estate's wines are pure, traditional and exceptional expressions of Sangiovese Grosso.
