Silvia Prieto's vintage-specific bottling carries her name in acknowledgment of her contribution to the estate. O Bocoi Vello de Silvia draws from several high-elevation plots in Sanxenxo and Meaño where vines range from 25-95 years old. A mix of clay, granodiorite, and sandy granite soils creates distinctive mineral character. The winemaking employs an ancient Galician tradition: foot-stomped fruit undergoes two days of maceration on skins and stems before gentle pressing. Fermentation occurs in reconditioned 90+ year-old chestnut barrels, then aging continues for seven months on lees with weekly batonnage. The result is a firm, saline Albariño with "wire-like freshness"—citrus (lime, grapefruit, lemon zest) against a wet stone background. This is Rías Baixas wine made according to time-honored tradition.
