Gatinois’ Champagne Brut Rosé Grand Cru NV, with a base of 2020, is a vibrant and sophisticated rosé that captures the essence of the Grand Cru vineyards in Aÿ, a village renowned for its exceptional Pinot Noir. The Gatinois family, with deep roots in Champagne, expertly combines traditional winemaking techniques with a focus on terroir, creating a cuvée that is both expressive and balanced. This rosé is crafted predominantly from Pinot Noir, with a small addition of Chardonnay to lend finesse and freshness, and is vinified in the Brut style, allowing the fruit’s natural richness to shine.

On the nose, this Champagne presents enticing aromas of wild strawberries, red currants, and raspberry, with subtle floral undertones and hints of citrus zest. The palate is vibrant and creamy, with flavors of ripe red berries, blood orange, and a touch of minerality that reflects the chalky soils of Aÿ. The fine, persistent mousse and balanced acidity lead to a refreshing, dry finish, accentuated by a touch of spice and structure from the Pinot Noir.

Ideal for pairing with a variety of dishes, from duck breast and charcuterie to smoked salmon or creamy cheeses, this Brut Rosé is versatile and food-friendly. The 2020 base vintage brings a fresh, focused energy to the wine, making it a delightful choice for celebratory moments or refined dining experiences that call for a Champagne with character and depth.

Gatinois

The Gatinois family has cultivated vines in Aÿ since 1696. The village is 100% Grand Cru and is renowned for its powerful Pinot Noir, particularly from a local clone called Petit Pinot d’Aÿ, which has tiny berries and is thought to have naturally higher acidity than Burgundy clones. Gatinois Champagnes are traditionally produced, reward long-aging, and are distinctly aromatic and refined...not to mention exceptional values!

"The NV Brut Rosé Grand Cru is a knockout. Rich and explosive, the Rosé literally races out of the glass. Readers will find a heady, voluptuous Champagne with gorgeous curves and tons of sheer appeal. Gatinois does excel with Rosé. This is a fine showing." -Vinous

"Hints of slivered almond and pastry dough impart a subtle leesy edge to the flavors of poached peach and white cherry fruit, grated ginger and chalk found in this lip-smacking rosé Champagne with a lively bead."

Champagne

Champagne boasts some of the world’s greatest luxury brands with Krug, Cristal and, of course, Dom Perignon. But it’s also home to hundreds of small dynamic producers—farmers who grow their own grapes (often organically) and make (often with natural methods) tiny amounts of pure and absolutely delicious wine that reflect the individual personalities of their villages and terroirs. Toast with these wines, for sure. But also treat them like the great wines they are: taste, drink, explore!
