Giuseppe Russo established this estate in 2005, naming it for his late father. San Lorenzo is the first single-vineyard white: 90% Carricante (Etna's indigenous white grape), 10% Catarratto and Grecanico, from a parcel at 750 meters surrounded by red variety vineyards. No malolactic fermentation, aged six months in second/third-passage barrique and tonneaux. The 18 hectares are farmed organically on Mount Etna's northern slopes (650-780m elevation) using traditional methods. Volcanic soil, altitude, Carricanteā€”this is white wine with genuine minerality and tension.
