The 2022 Le Grappin Savigny-lès-Beaune is a beautifully crafted Pinot Noir that captures the essence of this storied appellation in the Côte de Beaune. Le Grappin, led by Andrew and Emma Nielsen, has gained acclaim for their meticulous small-batch winemaking, focusing on organic farming and expressing the unique character of each vineyard. Their wines emphasize freshness, purity, and transparency, and this Savigny-lès-Beaune is no exception.

In the glass, the wine displays a vibrant ruby hue. The nose is expressive and layered, with aromas of ripe red cherries, wild strawberries, and redcurrants, complemented by floral notes of rose petals and violets, as well as subtle hints of spice and forest floor. On the palate, the wine is supple and elegant, with finely integrated tannins and a bright core of fresh red fruits. Earthy undertones and a whisper of minerality add complexity, leading to a long, silky finish.

The 2022 vintage, marked by warm and consistent conditions, provided excellent ripeness and concentration while preserving the bright acidity that defines the wines of Savigny-lès-Beaune. This Pinot Noir is versatile at the table, pairing beautifully with roasted duck, grilled salmon, or mushroom dishes. While approachable now for its vibrant fruit and refined structure, it will continue to develop additional layers of complexity with 5–7 years of cellaring. Le Grappin’s dedication to craftsmanship and terroir is evident in this wine, making it a standout in any Burgundy collection.
