The 2022 Anne et Hervé Sigaut Chambolle-Musigny Les Fuées Premier Cru (375ml) is a breathtaking Pinot Noir that captures the elegance and refinement of this iconic Côte de Nuits village. Anne and Hervé Sigaut, known for their meticulous craftsmanship and dedication to sustainable viticulture, are masters of expressing Chambolle-Musigny’s silky texture and aromatic complexity. The Les Fuées vineyard, situated just above the grand cru Bonnes Mares, is renowned for producing wines of depth and finesse, with a touch of the vineyard’s characteristic power.

In the glass, this wine displays a radiant ruby color. The nose is layered and enchanting, with aromas of ripe red cherries, wild strawberries, and blackberries, intertwined with floral notes of rose petals and violets. Subtle hints of spice, forest floor, and a touch of minerality add further complexity. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and exquisitely balanced, with fine-grained tannins and vibrant acidity supporting its juicy red fruit core. The wine’s texture is silky, and its long, elegant finish carries whispers of earth and spice.

The 2022 vintage, characterized by warm and even growing conditions, lends this wine a lush fruit profile while preserving the freshness and vibrancy that define great Chambolle-Musigny. The 375ml size is perfect for intimate occasions or as a way to explore the exceptional character of this Premier Cru. It pairs beautifully with roasted duck, herb-crusted lamb, or mushroom dishes, and while approachable now for its exuberant fruit and polished texture, it has the potential to age gracefully over the next 10–12 years. Anne et Hervé Sigaut’s Les Fuées is a brilliant example of Chambolle-Musigny’s timeless appeal, offering both sophistication and charm.

Domaine Sigaut makes Chambolle for Chambolle-lovers. Organic farming from flowering to harvest. Natural-yeast fermentations, light extractions and minimal oak influence. A light touch throughout.

The Sigauts have very good terroir, though not much of it. Their seven hectares include old vines in fantastic Premier Crus, like their seventy-year-old Sentiers vines. Their old vines dig deep into the limestone mother rock responsible for so much of Chambolles’ character. No wonder the wines are as profound as they are subtle.

Professional Reviews

Burghound

BH 92
"A slightly fresher nose freely reveals ripe aromas of cassis, various dark berries, violet, lilac and a hint of jasmine tea. Consistent with the nose, there is slightly better vibrancy to the sleek and lightly stony flavors that conclude in a lingering and slightly warm finish where a touch of mocha makes itself apparent."
