Chateau Fieuzal, Pessac Leognan Blanc, 2021
is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
Château de Fieuzal’s Pessac-Léognan Blanc 2021 is a refined white Bordeaux crafted from Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon, grown on the gravel and clay soils of the Graves’ Pessac-Léognan appellation. The estate, which dates back to the 17th century and is now owned by Brenda and Lochlann Quinn, has become known for producing some of the region’s most elegant, mineral-driven whites. The 2021 vintage was fermented and aged in French oak barrels (roughly 30–40% new) for texture and depth.
Why get this wine?
Fieuzal Blanc is consistently one of Bordeaux’s great white-wine values—complex and age-worthy, yet fresh and inviting in youth. The 2021 vintage, marked by cooler conditions, yielded whites of exceptional brightness and definition. This wine delivers the aromatic lift of Sauvignon with the creamy texture of Sémillon, offering a beautiful balance of citrus, florality, and subtle oak nuance.
What does this wine taste like?
Aromas of lemon curd, grapefruit, and white peach blend with notes of jasmine, almond, and gentle toast. The palate is vibrant and layered, with fine acidity, mineral tension, and a long, elegant finish.
When should you drink this wine?
Enjoy now through 2032. Serve cool (not cold) with shellfish, roasted chicken, or creamy vegetable dishes. Will gain complexity with a few years of bottle age.
