Cathy Corison discovered her passion for wine while studying biology in Claremont, CA. She went on to get a masters in enology at UC Davis in the mid-1970s then, after stints at leading estates (like Chappellet), founded her eponymous estate. She produced her first vintage in 1987 and has been making her Cabernet the same way ever since, walking the fine line between elegance and power.
The vineyards are some of Napa's best Cabernet sites, located between Rutherford and St. Helena, with deep stony and alluvial soils that produce a sublimely concentrated and elegant Cabernet Sauvignon. Exercising minimal intervention in the cellar, Cathy explains her winemaking technique as: “a hands-off approach to winemaking; it is my job to let the vineyards speak.”

"Marked by a supple, cedary core of spicy cherry, plum and currant, picking up complex anise, tar and oak, finishing with supple, polished tannins. A wine of richness and finesse."

"Smells very fine and pure. Classy black currants and toasty oak rule. Flavors are opulent, rich, ripe but very balanced. Gorgeous tannins; soft and accessible. Defines style and grace."
