Daniel Bouland, Morgon Corcelette Sable VV, 2023 (1.5L)
is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
Daniel Bouland is one of Beaujolais’ most respected traditionalists, known for making site-specific, old-vine Gamay without tricks. Corcelette “Sable Vieilles Vignes” comes from sandy-granitic soils and vines planted in the 1950s—producing a more lifted, floral expression of Morgon than his deeper, darker cuvées from Côte du Py.
The 2023 vintage was generous and balanced—less extreme than recent years—with bright fruit and fresh acidity. This bottling is all about elegance: red berries, violets, white pepper, and a streak of minerality that runs straight through the finish. It’s fermented with partial whole cluster and aged in neutral foudres—nothing flashy, just pure, transparent Gamay.
In magnum, it’s even better. The larger format preserves freshness and stretches out the aging curve, making it perfect for a few years in the cellar—or for a long dinner with friends right now.
This is Beaujolais that drinks more like Burgundy: structured, nuanced, and quietly serious. If you’re into Cru Beaujolais or just want a Gamay with energy and pedigree, Bouland’s Sable VV is a can’t-miss.
