The 2015 vintage in Burgundy was extraordinary—warmth without stress—and this Meursault has spent a decade developing into its prime. Fermented spontaneously and aged 18 months in barrels (30% new), it embodies the house signature: racy acidity and piercing minerality that cuts through any weight. The wine is now at a crossroads of pleasure: mature enough to show complexity and integration, young enough to age another 15 years. This is the sweet spot—drink it now or cellar it without regret.

Burghound

90 points

"A completely different nose is composed by notes of mineral reduction, essence of pear and a whiff of apple liqueur. The super-rich, concentrated and muscular flavors brim with dry extract to the point that the impressively long finish is borderline chewy. Like the Chaumes cuvée, this isn’t elegant and there is a touch of warmth but it is certainly impressive."

Antonio Galloni

"An aroma of orange zest is lifted by fresh minerality. At once delicate and intense, offering juicy, sharply delineated citrus and stone flavors and superb inner-mouth tension for village wine. Finish with terrific echoing length and energy." —Stephen Tanzer

Robert Parker

"The 2015 Meursault Village is showing very well, unfurling in the glass with notes of crisp yellow orchard fruit, Anjou pear, white flowers, honeycomb and hazelnut cream. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, satiny and pure, with beautiful balance, succulent underlying acids and an elegant framing of dry extract that lends a mouthwatering quality to the long, penetrating finish. Without either the strong cooperage or reductive signatures of yesteryear's Coche-Dury, it exemplifies the new stylistic direction taken by Raphaël Coche, and it's a terrific success, surpassing both the 2014 and 2013 renditions." —William Kelley

More about Domaine Coche-Dury

The king of Meursault, if monarchs existed in wine. These white Burgundies are the opposite of showy—subtle, mineral, built for the long haul. Jean-François Coche-Dury remains one of the region's most respected names, and his vineyards across the appellation produce wines with the kind of finesse that makes critics run out of adjectives.
