Domaine Coquard-Loison-Fleurot may be best known for their top-tier grand crus, but their village-level Chambolle-Musigny captures the same precision and refinement that define their style. The 2021 vintage, a cooler and more classically styled year, plays right into Chambolle’s strengths—delicate yet persistent, with a filigree of fine tannins and pure, lifted aromatics.

Wild strawberries and raspberries lead, with violets and subtle spice adding layers of intrigue. The texture is pure silk, but there’s a quiet tension underneath, a mineral thread that keeps the wine fresh and focused. While undeniably charming now, a few years in the cellar will bring even more nuance. A perfect match for roasted duck, mushroom dishes, or simply an evening that calls for something graceful and expressive.

"Here the expressive nose is both more elegant and more floral-inflected on the spicy red cherry and plum scents. There is equally good vibrancy and better detail on the finer medium weight flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the youthfully austere finale. This could use better depth so a few years of cellar time should prove helpful."

"The 2022 Chambolle-Musigny Village, matured in 30% new oak and 25% whole bunches, seems to lack cohesion on the nose at the moment, missing some presence. The palate is medium-bodied with more depth and fruit intensity. It is not a complex Chambolle and a bit austere on the finish, but the whole bunches lend a little grip and spice on the finish. It should give several years of drinking pleasure." -Vinous

Burgundy has long been the world's most famous wine region. But, underneath all the prestige, this region can be hard to get to know.

While Burgundy offers many great trophies from top producers in well-known villages like Vosne Romanee and Puligny Montrachet, it also offers excellent values to anyone willing to explore beyond the famous names. Our collection– one of the largest in the U.S. – has plenty of both!

From the very basics of Burgundy's regions and wines to the specific terroirs of individual single vineyards--
everything you need to know about Bourgogne is just a click away!
