The Domaine de l’Arlot Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru “Clos de l’Arlot” Blanc 2022 is a rare and captivating expression of white Burgundy from the Côte de Nuits, an area predominantly known for its red wines. This monopole vineyard, entirely owned by Domaine de l’Arlot, sits in a Premier Cru site in Nuits-Saint-Georges, where limestone-rich soils and meticulous biodynamic viticulture create a singular Chardonnay of elegance and complexity. The warm 2022 vintage imbues this cuvée with a remarkable balance of ripeness, vibrant acidity, and terroir-driven precision.

On the nose, this wine offers a refined bouquet of citrus zest, green apple, and white peach, intertwined with floral hints of acacia and subtle undertones of hazelnut and wet stone. As it evolves, delicate notes of brioche and almond emerge, reflecting its time in oak. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied and textured, with a lively acidity that lends freshness and lift. The mineral backbone, a hallmark of the site, provides structure and a persistent, saline-driven finish.

This wine is a versatile pairing for dishes such as seared scallops, roast chicken with a lemon butter sauce, or creamy mushroom pasta. While approachable now for its vibrant fruit and energy, the Domaine de l’Arlot Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru “Clos de l’Arlot” Blanc 2022 will reward careful cellaring over the next 8–10 years, gaining additional layers of complexity and depth. It is a unique and compelling representation of white Burgundy from the Côte de Nuits, showcasing the craftsmanship and innovation of Domaine de l’Arlot.

For several decades now the Domaine de L'Arlot has been following its own path to creating wines that reflect both the subtleties of diverse terroirs and a distinct "house style" that is unique in Burgundy. The Domaine is located in Premeaux, on the southern most edge of the Cotes-de-Nuits where Nuits-St-Georges tends to resemble Chambolle in elegance and perfume.

In 2015 the very talented Geraldine Godot was given full control of the domaine. She is committed to continuing the traditions of the house including biodynamic farming and a high percentage of whole clusters during fermentation. However she is making small changes, using less extraction and less new oak to achieve even more balance and grace.

The heart of the Domaine's holdings are two 1er Cru monopoles in Nuits-Saints-Georges: Clos de L'Arlot and Clos des Forets. These vineyards produce some of the most elegant wines in Nuits and are perfect examples of the finesse and purity of terroir that L'Arlot achieves.

They also have small parcels of vines in two of the top vineyards in Vosne-Romanée: Romanée-Saint-Vivant and Suchots. These blue chip wines are complimented by a range of excellent values from the Haut-Cotes and other sites surrounding Nuits.
