Domaine Jolivet, Saint-Joseph 1907, 2017
is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
Domaine Jolivet is part of the new wave bringing fresh energy and precision to the northern Rhône, and their "1907" Saint-Joseph—named for the year their oldest vineyard was planted—is a flagship bottling of serious intent. This cuvée comes from old-vine Syrah grown on steep, granite-rich slopes, farmed organically and vinified with a light, deft touch.
The 2017 vintage delivers classic northern Rhône character: aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, cracked black pepper, smoked meat, and violets. On the palate, it’s deep but not heavy, with fine-grained tannins, vivid acidity, and a mineral spine that keeps the rich fruit lifted and focused. The long, savory finish speaks of old vines, granite soils, and slow, thoughtful winemaking.
This is Saint-Joseph with structure and soul—serious enough to age, but open enough to enjoy now with a decant.
Pair with: grilled lamb, duck confit, charred vegetables, or a hearty mushroom stew.
