Montée de Tonnerre is one of Chablis’ most celebrated Premier Crus, situated on the right bank of the Serein River, where its clay-limestone soils and perfect exposure produce wines with both concentration and clarity. Duplessis, a family-run estate with deep roots in Chablis, works with care to preserve the purity of the terroir, farming organically and minimizing intervention in the cellar.

The 2018 vintage shows the power and elegance of Premier Cru Chablis—rich lemon and green apple fruit, with aromas of flint and wet stone. The 2018 emerges from two parcels totaling 1.2 hectares in the Pied d'Aloup climat, the highest part of Montée de Tonnerre, which likely explains its energy, brightness and focus.
