Giacometti is one of Corsica’s most exciting producers, making wines that capture the raw beauty of the island’s windswept terroir. Their Cru des Agriates is 100% Niellucciu (a close cousin of Sangiovese), grown in the granite soils of the Agriates desert, just north of Patrimonio. The 2020 vintage brings out the grape’s natural structure and savory depth, while keeping things fresh and vibrant.

Black cherry, blackberry, and wild rosemary jump out first, with hints of black olive, leather, and a salty, rocky minerality that screams Corsica. The tannins are firm but polished, giving it great texture without weighing it down. A perfect match for grilled lamb, charcuterie, or anything with a touch of smoke—this is soulful, untamed Corsican red at its best.
