"The 2001 Barolo Monprivato (magnum) needs quite a bit of air to open. Even when it does, it remains somewhat austere and clenched. There’s gorgeous freshness and vibrancy, and yet the 2001 is still reticent. I would give this a lot of air prior to serving. Today, my sense is that the 2021 is best enjoyed over the next decade or so." -Antonio Galloni

"Very pale ruby. Very fine raspberry and kitchen-spice nose, garden herbs too. White chocolate hints. Beautifully poised and light of touch."
