Grifalco is one of Basilicata’s top names for Aglianico, championing this noble southern grape with a focus on organic farming and traditional winemaking. Their namesake bottling, sourced from high-altitude vineyards on the slopes of Mount Vulture, is a pure expression of the region’s volcanic terroir. The 2021 vintage shows Aglianico’s signature intensity—bold and structured, but with enough finesse to highlight the grape’s more elegant side.

Black cherry and plum are at the core, wrapped in layers of tobacco, leather, and smoky earth. The tannins are firm yet polished, giving the wine both grip and aging potential, while a streak of bright acidity keeps it vibrant. Decant now for a more supple experience, or tuck it away for a few years to let its complexity unfold. A perfect match for rich, slow-cooked dishes like osso buco, grilled lamb, or aged cheeses.
