Château Chalon is one of the Jura’s more celebrated AOCs, producing wines of great character and intensity, made with 100% Savagnin. The style is a vin jaune, however, they are only produced in exceptional years. This was on its way to becoming a vin jaune, but after scrupulous tasting, was bottled with just 4 years of sous voile aging. Rich, savory, yeasty and racy, this is a wonderful version of classic Savagnin.

More about Lulu Vigneron

Ludwig Bindernagel (called Lulu by friends) and Nathalie Eigenschenck spent years learning their trade before building a 2.5-hectare organic estate in Arlay, then expanded to Poligny, L'Etoile, and Château-Chalon. They make maybe 1,800 bottles a year—wines that take up to two years to ferment at low temperatures. Jura at its most patient and pure.
