From one of the old vineyards in Barbaresco; this organic & biodynamic would be amazing with grilled red meat. Beautiful notes of vanilla, herbs, and red flowers on the nose, and great red fruit, leather, and a nice umami finish leaving you wanting another sip.

A recent visit to the Paitin estate in Neive was full of delicious wines and fascinating history. The Pasquero-Elia family has been working these vineyards since 1796, and bottling the wines as Barbaresco for more than a century, even before their village officially joined Barbaresco. Three generations of the family are at work today in the vineyards and cellar, working organically and crafting Nebbiolo wines with equal power and grace.

Professional Reviews

Antonio Galloni

AG 95
"The 2011 Barbaresco Sorì Paitin Vigne Vecchie is just as stunning as it has always been. A wine of extraordinary purity, the 2011 is laced with rose petals, spices, mint, sweet red berries. The balance of fruit, acidity and tannin is simply magnificent. At the same time, the power and breadth of Serraboella comes through in spades." -Vinous

Wine Spectator

WS 95
"An intense red, with an amazingly fresh and vibrant structure. A beam of cherry cuts through, surrounded by balsamic elements of menthol, juniper and wild rosemary. Shows terrific length. Remains on the tannic side, but the freshness destines this for aging." -Bruce Sanderson
