Pehu-Simonet’s Champagne Face Nord Rosé Brut NV is a dynamic and expressive wine, showcasing the artistry of Pinot Noir from grand cru vineyards in the Montagne de Reims. Crafted in the saignée method, this rosé offers a striking salmon hue and an alluring bouquet of wild strawberries, red currants, and raspberries, complemented by floral notes of rose petals and a subtle touch of spice. On the palate, it is vibrant and layered, with flavors of ripe red berries, blood orange, and a whisper of crushed herbs, balanced by lively acidity and a fine, persistent mousse. The finish is crisp and mineral-driven, leaving a refreshing impression.

This rosé reflects Pehu-Simonet’s dedication to sustainable viticulture and low-intervention winemaking. Grapes are hand-harvested from premier parcels in Verzenay and Verzy, fermented with native yeasts, and aged on lees to develop texture and complexity. The Brut style, with a carefully calibrated dosage, allows the wine’s fruit and mineral backbone to shine, offering both intensity and finesse.

Face Nord Rosé is a versatile Champagne that pairs beautifully with a variety of dishes, from smoked salmon and duck confit to berry-topped desserts or soft cheeses. Its vibrant character and depth also make it a wonderful aperitif for celebrations or romantic evenings. This cuvée exemplifies the elegance and vibrancy of grand cru Pinot Noir transformed into an extraordinary rosé Champagne.

Professional Reviews

Burghound

BH 93
"This is also really quite pretty, pure and elegant with its perfumed array of cool strawberry, cherry, currant, yeast and plenty of citrus elements. There is excellent punch and delineation to the moderately powerful medium weight flavors that are shaped by a medium-firm effervescence before terminating in a clean, yeasty and lemon peel-suffused finish. Moreover this is a very dry example relative to what is typical for the genre and I very much liked this overall plus it offers very good value."

Wine Spectator

WS 93
"A bright and mouthwatering rosé Champagne, with macerated raspberry and kirsch notes riding the raw silklike mousse. Creamy and harmonious, with violet, grated ginger, orange peel and blanched almond accents."

Champagne

Champagne boasts some of the world’s greatest luxury brands with Krug, Cristal and, of course, Dom Perignon. But it’s also home to hundreds of small dynamic producers—farmers who grow their own grapes (often organically) and make (often with natural methods) tiny amounts of pure and absolutely delicious wine that reflect the individual personalities of their villages and terroirs. Toast with these wines, for sure. But also treat them like the great wines they are: taste, drink, explore!
