Romain le Bars, Pousse Cailloux VDF Red, 2023
is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
Romain le Bars continues to redefine what Southern Rhône red wine can be: lighter, brighter, and more about vibrancy than sheer power. Trained at Domaine de l’Anglore under Éric Pfifferling, Romain brings that same hands-off, terroir-first approach to every bottle he produces.
Pousse Cailloux—“stone pusher”—comes from old-vine Grenache planted in deeply stony soils, where the rocks reflect heat during the day and preserve freshness at night. Fermented whole-cluster with native yeasts and bottled unfiltered, it’s pure southern sunshine channeled through a natural, almost Burgundian frame.
The 2023 vintage is bursting with bright red berries, orange zest, crushed herbs, and a faint whiff of wildflowers. On the palate, it’s silky and buoyant, with just a whisper of tannin and a juicy, mineral-driven core that keeps it impossibly drinkable.
Think of it as Rhône fruit meets Loire lift—perfect for chilling slightly and pouring generously.
Pair with: grilled sausages, ratatouille, or a long afternoon with friends and snacks.
