A. Margaine's "Champagne Cuvée Le Brut" is a non-vintage Champagne crafted by Arnaud Margaine, a grower-producer in the Montagne de Reims, known for his meticulous attention to terroir-driven wines. This Champagne is composed primarily of Chardonnay, which gives it a fresh and elegant profile, with Pinot Noir providing structure and complexity. On the nose, it reveals delicate aromas of white flowers, green apple, and citrus zest, while the palate follows with a lively mousse and flavors of crisp pear, lemon, and hints of brioche from its time spent on the lees.

The vineyards that contribute to this cuvée are sustainably farmed, with the Margaine family focusing on expressing the character of their Premier Cru sites in Villers-Marmery. Fermented in stainless steel to preserve the purity of fruit, this wine undergoes extended aging on the lees to develop depth and finesse. The result is a Champagne with a well-balanced acidity and a creamy mouthfeel, making it an ideal companion for seafood dishes, light pastas, and soft cheeses, or to enjoy on its own as a refreshing aperitif.

Arnaud Margaine continues his family's legacy of producing exceptional grower Champagnes that reflect the unique terroir of the region. His commitment to quality and craftsmanship is evident in the precision and elegance of Cuvée Le Brut, which has earned a loyal following among Champagne enthusiasts worldwide.

WE 91
"This is a seriously dry wine. Arnaud Margaine works each harvest to create freshness and a totally crisp texture, generally dismissing malolactic fermentation. It is balanced, allowing the fruitiness to shine through the tight, mineral texture from the predominant Chardonnay in the blend that comes from a mere 16-acre Montaigne de Reims vineyard surrounded by Pinot Noir. It could age through 2015 in bottle to be even better." -Roger Voss

Champagne

Champagne boasts some of the world’s greatest luxury brands with Krug, Cristal and, of course, Dom Perignon. But it’s also home to hundreds of small dynamic producers—farmers who grow their own grapes (often organically) and make (often with natural methods) tiny amounts of pure and absolutely delicious wine that reflect the individual personalities of their villages and terroirs. Toast with these wines, for sure. But also treat them like the great wines they are: taste, drink, explore!
